Getting around the City of St. Catharines doesn't require a car. Residents can also make their way to different points in the Garden City using public transportation.
St. Catharines Transit has bus routes traversing all corners of the city with buses running at regular intervals, although some routes have limited evening and weekend service.

St. Catharines Transit also travels into the neighbouring City of Thorold. Stops at Brock University enable riders to connect to buses from Niagara Falls Transit and Welland Transit, taking travellers to their respective cities.
Although no formal inter-municipal transit program is in place, the Region of Niagara has held public consultations on the implementation of a connected system of public transportation that would enable residents to travel between all 12 of Niagara's municipalities.
