St. Catharines Public Library Board

The St. Catharines Public Library Board's mandate is to provide the citizens of St. Catharines with a comprehensive and balanced collection of library materials. There are a minimum of seven Members of the Board, appointed at large, with an additional two Members of Council appointed for a four year term.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • To provided the facilities and the staff necessry to achieve and maintain excellence in library services.
  • Promote the effective use of all library materials.
  • Cooperate with community organizations to present programs of educational, cultural and recreational significance
  • Work towards development and implementation of networks and systems compatable for resource sharing.
  • Continue to evaluate the library services to determine that it meets the needs of an ever changing community.
