Ad Hoc Budget Review Committee
City Council, at its Oct. 3, 2005 Strategic and Corporate Planning meeting, created the Ad Hoc Budget Committee. The mandate of this committee includes the review of the Annual Budget, Schedule of Rates and Fees and any other matters that may be referred to the Committee by City Council.
On November 14, 2011, Coun. Bill Phillips made a motion that the Ad Hoc Budget Committee will function as the Grants Committee for 2012.
An Ad Hoc Committee is formed for a specific purpose and is automatically dissolved upon the completion of the specified tasks.
The Ad Hoc Budget Review Committee will balance the desire for City-funded services and program while also being mindful of the impact of these decisions have on property taxes and the corporation's finances.
The committee offers guidance to city departments on how the City will be in the most ideal position to allocate their resources.
The City of St. Catharines' Ad Hoc Budget Committee consists of up to five members of Council and the Mayor.
All members have voting privileges.
Members are expected to work collaboratively with fellow members while considering submissions from senior staff and members of the public.
